The third day of my weekend biking / camping trip to the Waterloo area with Jen and her parents, Don and Bev. Here's Jen packing up her tent and sleeping bag. She's always sitting down on the job. |

There was a little inch worm hanging from Jen's glasses. |

Just about ready to ride out from the park (Laurel Creek Conservation Area). We packed all our camping stuff in the van and vacated the site before leaving for our day ride. Here are Bev and me, waiting in the shade. |

Our first major stop today was in St. Jacob's. We locked up the bikes and went for a walk around town. Jen and I check out the river and the creek that is diverted from the river to feed the mill (seen in this pic to the left). |

Jen calls this my "GQ pose", with the Conestoga River in the background. Sticking with the GQ theme, t-shirt and glasses by MEC, pannier by Arkel, camera by Canon. |

Here's Jen infront of the old silos that were part of the mill. I think there are shops inside of it now. |

That's me infront of a mural on the side of a building. |

After eating lunch by the river diversion, we followed the Trans Canada Trail out of town. Here's Jen sticking her tongue out at me as we ride down a gravel road surrounded by farms, fields of corn, etc... |

It's not a recumbent bike ride without a picture of my feet! This is my view of the roads as we rode through Mennonite country. |

Jen's blue shirt almost disappears into the incredibly blue sky. |

We stopped in the shade again for a water break. Coincidentally, we were infront of a bicycle / tricycle shop. They were not open on Sundays, so it's a good thing we didn't need to go in. |

Jen took these pictures of her bike and shadow. It seemed like the sun was directly overhead. |

After looping through Elora, we stopped at a McDonald's to use the washrooms and check the maps before heading back to Laurel Creek. |

These signs are a common sight in the St. Jacob's / Elora area! |

We passed the church / cemetary again on the way back to Laurel Creek. This time the parking lot was full of horses an buggies. |

This is the pathway between the Conestoga River and the diversion that goes to the mill. We rode along here back into St. Jacbob's. |

It's a beautiful ride along here. I was loving the open fields and country riding too, but the shade and water were a nice change! |
