This morning I read on the Spacing
website that there was going to be a
Subway Party
starting at 11:22pm at Downsview Station. I convinced Jen to go, and
we headed out there in the evening. Here I am on the Spadina train
heading north.

Some people showed up in fun costumes. The
Dose photographers were there taking
pictures of everyone.

The crowd was getting bigger. And just before we left, TTC security
came by to see what was going on. He also told us that picture-taking
is not allowed on the subway platforms. Oops, I'm sorry.

alley. I've never had any success with dates found in alleyways...

Once we all got on the train, people started throwing up a few decorations
to liven up the party.

Lots of people milling about and making some noise, but there was a
serious lack of music.

As we stopped at other stations down the Spadina line, we picked up
more party-goers. This guy brought his guitar along and got some good
applause for that (now the music situation improved).

They were dancing up a storm at the back of the car where there was alot
more room for it.

There was a long delay at one of the stations (apparantly some lady went
a bit nutso in that station and had to get subdued by the cops). Some
people took this opportunity to go dance on the platform while we waited.
The party-train people also tried their best to get more people to join
in!

It got a bit slow when we had to stand around waiting for the train to
move again.

The party picked up some more when we got moving again, and we kept on
picking up more people at every station.

People really started moving to the drum. But just as the party was
picking up so well, Jen and I left to transfer to the Bloor line at
St. George station to go home. Too bad it was so late on a worknight...
