Today I decided to get out and go for a walk. The original plan was to
walk from home to High Park, find a geocache or two, go grocery shopping,
and then take the subway home. The plans changed when it started to rain
in Bloor West Village, so here's how my day went... Right near home, I took a few pictures of the South-West corner of Bloor and Islington. Not very interesting now, but they're starting to build a large condo complex there, so I thought I'd snap some photos before the view completely changes. |

When I changed my mind and decided to go downtown instead of shopping at the No Frills in Bloor West Village, I caught the westbound subway at Runnymede Station. I transferred to a streetcar at Spadina and got out at Dundas St. in Chinatown. First order of business was to get some pho at my new favourite Vietnamese place (unfortunately, I've already forgotten the name...). After dinner, I walked around Kensington Market for a bit, and actually ended up doing some grocery shopping there. |

I was having fun walking today, so I headed over towards Nathan Phillips Square. I was quite surprised to see that they already had the skating rink open, and that quite a few people were using it. The whole place is lit up with Christmas lights now too. |

Without a tripod, and only some railings, garbage cans, and other stationary objects I could use to stabilize my camera for these slow-speed shots, I had some difficulty taking good pics. |

A better shot of City Hall. By this point I started using a pile of coins from my pocket as a better tripod! |

Dundas Square looks very empty now. I miss those fountains in the summer, though I wouldn't be running through them now! The "fireworks" are a nice touch at least. |

More "fireworks" over Dundas Square. |

Looking out from Dundas Square. They seem to want to have a "Times Square" sort of feel to this area. Is being surrounded by huge advertisements something that really makes people feel special? |

I tried to take some pictures of this streetcar, because I don't really have any good TTC Streetcar pictures yet. This isn't what I wanted, but I like the blur anyway. |

Interesting decor in this park in Yorkville: Concrete donuts around the trees and big green bug zappers. Cool! |

A couple of picures of Cumberland St. in Yorkville, right infront of the Bay St. subway station. I was sitting on a big rock in the park when I took these pictures. |

I think this is Old York Lane, leading up to Yorkville St. from Cumberland. |

At first I wasn't sure what this place was. The archway was intriguing. I thought it was a hotel, but I just looked it up and it turns out it's the "Prince Arthur" condo at 38 Avenue Rd. |

A marble couch in the condo's courtyard. Looks neat, but probably not too comfortable. |

I took a few pictures looking out through the arch, but by this time a security guard was eyeing me suspiciously. |

Back on Bloor St. These three pictures are of the ROM Crystal that is currently being built. There weren't any good objects to use as a "tripod" around here, and I noticed that my camera lens was all dirty now, so I didn't manage to get any really good photos. |

I got back on the subway at Spadina station for my ride home. Another fun day out and about in the city. |
