It wasn't the most pleasant day to be out riding my bike (about 10C and
rainy), but it's very
rare that bad weather stops me from getting out there! This is the view
from my balcony of the Bloor and Islington intersection before heading
out. On a clear day, the downtown skyline would be visible. I had a few errands to run and places to go to today: Check out the Earth Day stuff down by the lakeshore (a bit small and disappointing, though I saw some neat bamboo clothes), go to MEC to check out the gear/bike swap (oops that's tomorrow!) and buy a few things, meet up with some ARC members to plan a memorial for the cyclists killed this week, and go to Urbane Cyclist to check out recumbents and stuff with my co-worker Danny. |

Turning left off of Islington at Bloor, there was an SUV with the most adorable dog sticking its head out the back window. I wasn't quick enough with the camera, so here's a picture of the ass-end of an SUV. |

Down at Urbane Cyclist I took a couple of pictures of Danny test-riding a Bachetta Giro 26/20 recumbent bike. |

He seemed to be enjoying it. It's a nice bike, and very comfortable. |

I bought a few things at Urbane: a new wheel, tire and tube for my Swing Bike, and a Velovision magazine for some high quality bathroom reading. I carried the wheel home by using my cable lock to attach it to my rack. |

This guy was carrying way more stuff on his bike than I was. Heck, there's even a muffler on there! |

As I rode home along Bloor St., I saw this unusually fun sight at the corner of Jane St.: Bubbles!!! |

Obviously, someone had filled up the fountain with some kind of soap. There were a bunch of kids around there having a great time playing in the bubbles, throwing bubbles at each other, etc. Big gusts of wind occasionally blew a whole bunch of the bubbles out in to the street. |

Pretty fun way to perk up a dreary spring day. |
