Railway and Foundry Lofts on Lansdowne north of Dupont.
|
|
Lots of bikes locked up here.
|
|
Interesting murals under the bridge. Date on the bridge is 1931.

Me and Jen under the bridge.

|
Foundry Lofts building. Apparently they used to make electric trains
here. Now they're turning it into residential lofts and more.

Another view of the Foundry Lofts from the north end on Lansdowne Ave.

Looking south down Lansdowne Ave. towards Davenport.

Up on St. Clair Ave., we decided to walk through part of Prospect Cemetary.

Construction on St. Clair Ave., as the streetcar right of way gets
extended west. Looking south between Greenlaw and Via Italia.
|
|
Another shot of that backhoe.
|
|
Another backhoe, just a bit to the east, cradling it's little brother.

His and Hers TTC toilets?

Jen wanted a photo of the green dress in this storefront.

Searching for a place to have breakfast, lunch, brunch, or
whateveryouwannacallit, we ended up finding this cute little cafe just
off of St. Clair Ave. Unfortunately, they didn't really serve much in
the way of food, but the guy working there recommended this place called
"BOOM" at the corner of St Clair and Glenholme. He warned us about the
lineup, which actually wasn't too bad, maybe 5 minutes. Breaky was
delicious. I'll have to keep both these places in mind for future
visits.

Jen at the foot of Glenholme Ave. at Regal Rd. There's a staircase here
that goes down the escarpment. Not quite like the escarpment staircases
inHamilton though!
|
|
Looking down the staircase towards Davenport Rd.
|
|
At Davenport Rd. and Dufferin St., there's a another path that goes
back up the escarpment. Unfortunately, it's been closed off, though
still easily accessible from the bottom. At the top, it's fenced off so
you can't access the school grounds up there. Ohwell. We still enjoyed
the nice view from up here. It's really not that high up, but because
of the lack of tall buildings around here, you can see a fair bit of
the West End of Toronto, and over to the downtown skyline which
seems so far away.
|
|
So...here are a whole bunch of pictures taken from the escarpment
north-east of Davenport and Dufferin.
